Grains, fluids and... what is going on here? - Prof. Erick de Moraes Franklin (UNICAMP)
Granular matter is basically a collection of solid particles that interact with each other and, since they constitute a discrete medium, does not behave as a solid or a fluid. When interacting with a fluid flow, results different from initially expected can happen. In this talk, I will show some studies carried out in our laboratory at UNICAMP, which include experiments, numerical simulations, and a bit of craziness.
